What is Defense of the Ancients?

Defense of the Ancients (often referred to as DotA) is a custom scenario for Warcraft III The Frozen Throne based on the "Aeon of Strife" map for Starcraft The objective of the scenario is to destroy the opponents' "Ancient". The two teams' ancients are heavily guarded structures at opposing corners of the map. Players use powerful units known as heroes, and are assisted by allied heroes and AI-controlled fighters called "creeps". As in role-playing-game, players level up their hero and use gold to buy equipment during the mission.

The scenario was developed with the World of Editor of Warcraft III Reign of Chaos , and was updated upon the release of the Warcraft expansion The Frozen Throne. There have been many variations of the original concept; currently, the most popular is DotA Allstars, which has been maintained by several authors during development.

Since its release, Allstars has become a feature at several worldwide tournaments, including Blizzard Entertainment’s BlizzCon and the Asian World Cyber Games, as well as the Cyberathlete Amateur and CyberEvolution leagues; Gamasutra declared that DotA was perhaps the most popular "free, non-supported game mod in the world". The variant is cited as an inspiration for the upcoming video game Demigod

IceFrog already gives his final update about DotA 6.60. He also revealed the new community site address, PlayDota.com Here is the quote from his blog

Alright, everything is going smooth so far and nothing major discovered. I'll start uploading it to all the mirrors very soon. I'm doing a final proofread on the changelog right now as well, and then I'll post it on getdota.com

Thanks to everyone that helped test this version and to all the players that have sent me their feedback and requests in. There are many changes in this patch, some depend on the other one, so you'll need to play it a bit to get a good idea for how things play out in practice. That being said, don't hesitate to give me your first impressions and your overall feelings towards the update. There will probably be a 6.60b or a 6.61 to quickly following this one, so let me know any mistakes you find or any suggestions for stuff to change

A few weeks ago I asked for help on for a new website. Thanks to all the effort of the community and volunteers, it has made very good progress. I've decided to reveal a public beta of the website to you guys today as well. It still needs more work and it will have bugs, but it seems like it would be appropriate to do it today and get a bigger group of people testing it and helping us with it.

DotA Allstars 6.60 Bugs / Exploit.

Some people reported that the brand new DotA Allstars 6.60 contains some bug or exploits. This is already expected since DotA 6.60 contains many changes. If you found any Dota 6.60 bug or exploit, please report it to IceFrog so they can get the fixed map, either on DotA 6.60b or DotA 6.61

Here is some bug or exploit, you can have 2 Quelling Blade (you only allowed to carry 1) and can jungling easier

Use a hero that can switch their forms of attack(range/melee) like Syllabear/Troll/Terror Blade and you can have 2 quelling blades on your inventory. Quelling Blade gives +36% bonus damage to non-hero units for melee and 12% for ranged heroes. And you get both bonus 100%+36%+12% = 152% damage on creeps. How?

1. Buy a Quelling Blade on melee mode. You will got the normal Quelling Blade.
2. Transform into range mode.
3. Buy another Quelling Blade, you will got Range Quelling Blade.
4. Now you have two Quelling Blades

But the above bug already reported to IceFrog.
